Bloggers are always looking for new ways to market their blog and gain more readers. One of the biggest tools that a blogger can use is Pinterest, yet most bloggers don’t realize just how beneficial this tool can be. There are millions of people on Pinterest, some of which are your target audience. By making PInterest work for you, you can reach this audience, generate more traffic to your website and gain more dedicated readers. If you’re a blogger, the following are four ways that Pinterest can help your blog succeed.
Pinterest Traffic Chart
1. Pin images from your blog to Pinterest.
You should make sure that every blog post you write has a captivating image to go along with it. Then, you should make sure to pin this image to Pinterest and use a detailed description of what the blog post is about. Pinterest is all about images, and if you can post an attractive and enticing image to Pinterest and link it back to your blog, you can generate more traffic to your site.
2. Think infographic.
Infographics are an extremely popular way to share information. Not only do they provide your readers with a great deal of information in a creative, attractive and succinct way, but people simply love them. If you post a few infographics to your blog instead of your usual content, you can then pin the infographics to Pinterest. If Pinterest users find your information valuable, they’ll gladly repin it and share it through other social networks, which will turn into more readers for your blog.
3. Use keywords in your descriptions.
You always need to make sure that you’re adding a description to your pins so that your followers know what information they’ll receive by clicking through on your image. It’s also very important that you use keywords in these descriptions so that if someone performs a search on Pinterest, your pin will appear. You should also make sure that you’re not giving too much away in your description, otherwise that will hinder your followers from clicking through.
4. Create different boards.
Pinterest users love variety, and if you simply have a board titled “blogs” and pin all of your blogs to that board, people will overlook it. Instead, make sure that you create boards that others will find interesting and pin your blog articles to the respective boards. For example, if you wrote a blog post about an activity for kids, make sure to pin it to a board titled “Fun Activities for Kids”, or something that would attract parents. If you constantly pin to a board titled “blogs”, it will come off as obvious self-promotion, and people are not attracted to that.
Bloggers can generate a great amount of traffic from Pinterest. If you add fun and exciting images to your blog posts, use infographics, add keywords to your descriptions and create unique boards, you will easily create pins that will attract your followers and entice them to not only click through to read your blog, but to also repin your post to help it go viral. And virality equals more readers.
