As per rules of TRAI(The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) all mobile or landline subscribers can block unwanted calls and sms. To avoid these kind of problems TRAI created two type of category. This procedure work with Tata Indicom, Aircel, MTS India, Airtel, BSNL, Tata DoCoMo, Loop Mobile , Reliance Communications, MTNL, Uninor, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and etc.
1. Full Blocked Category :- In this category people can register for block all types of commercial calls and sms. Just call on this number 1909 or you can Type START 0 message to 1909 to block the unwanted calls or sms.
2. Partial Blocked Category :- In this category you want calls or SMS from selected category then you can register DND in this category. Well at this time 7 category are available.
1. Banking, Insurance, Financial products, Credit card
2. Real state
3. Education
4. Health
5. Customer goods and Automobiles
6. Communication, Broadcasting, Entertainment, IT
7. Tourism
How to get SMS or Calls only your selected category follow the steps Send SMS START to 1909, select your category and send it to 1909. Suppose you select Health, you need to send SMS START 4 to 1909. Once you register to your selected category after that you will never get unwanted calls or sms.

How to complaint
If you receive unwanted calls or sms after 7 days you register then you call to 1909 to file a complaint. Two methods of complaint
1. Call :- Call to 1909 voice response system then follow the procedure. You also contact to coustomer care and register your complaint.
2. SMS :- In this method you can send sms in this format “COMP TEL NO XXXXXXXXXXX, dd/mm/yy, Time hh:mm” once your complaint is registered you will get unique complaint number, they will take necessary action within 7 days.
How DND convert into NON DND
Suppose you create a account on any job portal they will ask you to verify your phone number to receive calls or sms, so in this situation you need to convert DND to NON DND. Some site will subscribe they will convert your number automatically. When you convert your number post paid to prepaid or prepaid to postpaid you number will automatically removed from DND.
