There are lots of ways of conducting ethical SEO. Google has set out plenty of guidelines for you to follow. You do not always have to follow the black hat SEO methods that you read online, there are plenty of ethical SEO methods you can try–here are a few of them.

Article websites have had a hard time of late, as many people think they are now no use for SEO. This is not true, as the legitimate ones are still search engine friendly. It is the content mills and black-hat SEO sites that you should not be linking from. The mainstream and regular article sites are ideal for creating relevant backlinks.

Fill out your keyword Meta tag

You can have as many as twelve keywords on your Meta keyword tag; any more than that and you are pushing it a little. Ideally, you should fill it with your primary keyword and its synonyms. The keywords that appear in your Meta tag should then be mirrored around your website in places such as your content, titles, ALT text, etc.

Learn how to use H tags on a web page

The H tag is a function that helps the search engines figure out what parts of your text are important and what are not. They work slightly different for blogs and for websites, so you need to look into how to use them and where to use them. You also need to be careful about what you choose to put into your H tags.

Put a keyword inside your title tag

Your title tag is the part of the page that is supposed to hold your title. Some people think that the title should be in the H1 tag, but that is incorrect. Put a keyword in your title, as the search engines will regard this as a signal that the keyword is of some importance.

Create high quality written content

This is one of the things that Google and the other search engines like to key in on. The search engines like content that is fresh, interesting, and of a high quality. They like content that is well written and flows nicely. It does not have to be perfect, or even of a high literary standard. It just has to look and read as if it were written by a person whose first language is English.

Avoid all black hat SEO

Black hat SEO is any form of search engine manipulation. It involves anything that purposefully breaks Google’s rules, or tries to manipulate the search engine results so that their website appears higher up the search engine results pages.

Use the bold font function in your content

This is an old SEO technique, but it still has its place in modern SEO tactics. The aim of the game is to put two of your most powerful keywords in bold, and you must do it the first time they appear, unless one of them is in your title, at which point you should put the keyword in bold the second time it appears (after appearing in the title).

Fill out the ALT tag on images

The ALT tag is supposed to tell people what the picture is all about. It is mainly for if the image does not load on the screen. Google uses this text to judge what the image is all about, so it is wise to put a few keywords into the ALT tag too.

Upload your images with keywords in the file name

Before you actually put your image onto your server, name it something descriptive and put a keyword in the description. Naming your image file something such as “01” is not good enough and will not serve your SEO needs adequately.

Name your images descriptively and with keywords

When you name your images on your website, make sure that they are named descriptively. Also, make sure that they have keywords in them, so that the search engines can see that your more powerful keywords are littered around your website.

Add at least one or two keywords to each page

When you are creating your written content, you need to add at least one or two of your most powerful keywords to your written content. The amount of times you repeat those keywords is up to you, just so long as at least one of the keywords in your Meta keyword tag is within your written website content.

Backlinks from guest blog posts

Guest blog posts are a good way of getting relevant backlinks. It is quite fashionable to write guest blog posts these days, and the backlinks you get from blogs may be quite relevant and powerful in SEO terms. Just make sure that you post about a subject that is relevant to your blog post or blog topic/genre.
